Case Study

In 2015, SGC Security Services were chosen to become a framework supplier of facilities management, security and cleaning services to a large facilities management company. We were responsible for ensuring that a comprehensive hybrid support service provision was delivered across several of the client’s contracts. This case study demonstrates our integrated approach to security guarding and support services.

The Challenge

In May 2020, SGC Security Services were appointed to undertake two construction projects. Due to our relationship with this client on past projects, SGC Security Services were approached to supply various facilities management services as a trusted partner. Consequently, we delivered a comprehensive range of facilities management solutions tailored to their specific needs.

 

 

Our Approach/Solution

Once we had been appointed to supply services on these prestigious projects, we adopted our tried and tested 9-step mobilisation plan. Throughout the mobilisation, we met many challenges from incumbent contractors through to the high-profile nature of the project. Furthermore, the Senior Management Team, in conjunction with the Management Team from the client, started out with the right attitude of “True Partnership” with the sole aim of getting things done.
 
As a result, we were able to deliver our services effectively and efficiently by the following methods:
 
Sector-Based Experts
Our team of experienced professionals knew how to best secure the client’s assets. After carrying out site audits, they began to make many recommendations to improve site security and safety. Additionally, this expertise ensured compliance with industry standards.
 
Flexibility
Due to our policy of directly employing officers, we had a large resource pool available. This allows us to cater for regular last-minute changes and risk profiling. Moreover, our flexible approach ensured continuity of service.
 
Local Labour
Almost all our staff were local, which provided a high degree of knowledge of the surrounding area. Furthermore, we carried out a TUPE transfer of 21 security staff from the incumbent company. This ensured a smooth transition.
 
Highly Trained and Experienced
Our staff were trained to the highest standard to ensure that they delivered the service that the client required. They were supported by our security and safety programme, which focused on our workforce talent. This was supported by on-site training and bespoke site e-learning training and inductions.
This process was managed by our dedicated management team and supervisors. They used appropriate technology and were supported by the required SGC Security Services representatives.

The Result

Through direct communication and partnership, SGC Security Services and the client worked as an integrated team. We met daily to understand and respond to the client’s ever-changing requirements. Consequently, this consistently achieved and exceeded the key business drivers. These drivers included cost management, security, health and safety, and customer service.
