SGC Security Services were selected to support the delivery of two major international government events held in the UK in 2021: the G7 Summit and COP26.
The G7 Summit took place in Carbis Bay, Cornwall, from 11th–13th June 2021. Later that year, the UK hosted the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow from 31st October–13th November.
Both events brought together international leaders and delegates within complex, high-profile environments. SGC provided security guarding and close protection services, supported by dedicated supervisors and management teams.
Major international government events require careful planning, coordination and consistent security delivery.
SGC needed to deploy trained security personnel who could operate effectively within high-profile environments. The SGC teams also needed to respond to the logistical demands associated with events of this scale.
Maintaining service standards throughout each operation required strong communication between frontline officers, supervisors and the teams working behind the scenes.
The challenge was therefore not only to provide experienced personnel, but to maintain a coordinated and responsive security operation throughout both events.
SGC deployed specialist security personnel to support the requirements of each event.
Supervisors provided round-the-clock support to frontline teams. Behind the scenes, SGC management and operational teams coordinated delivery and responded to challenges as they arose.
This structure helped maintain clear communication throughout each operation. It also gave officers access to the support they needed while working within demanding event environments.
The SGC teams maintained a proactive approach throughout both deployments, combining frontline security delivery with dedicated supervision and operational support.
SGC successfully supported the delivery of both the G7 Summit and COP26 without incident.
