Saturday 6th May 2023

The day started for the team SGC Security Services at 03:00 with the Officers and stewards arriving from 03:30, the project planning though started many weeks prior to enable the team on the day achieve the results that the world witnessed live on TV and in person along Whitehall on 6th May.

Mobilising over 500 staff in London, signing them in, checking dress code and SIA licences, issuing Hi – Viz, Radios, Lunch packs, breaking them into teams, giving team briefings and then walking them all to position along our area of responsibility to relieve the night team is no easy task.

To add to that it was pouring it down with rain and the mobilisation had to be completed and in position by 05:30.

A huge well done to the Managers and Supervisors that managed this mammoth task without too much shouting Brian Wilson, Aaron Wigg Sam Desai plus many more.

A massive pat on the back to all of the Supervisors, SIA Officers and Stewards for doing an amazing job in the rain and making the whole event a huge success.

Someone in the crowd said to me how do we make it look so effortless and controlled, the 6P’s is the answer and a bit of shouting 😁
