SGC SECURITY SERVICES MOBILISE 6 NEW HOSPITALS IN NORTH WALES

SGC Security Services are proud once again to be awarded a new contract supporting the NHS in keeping Patients, Visitors, and staff safe at 6 Hospitals throughout North Wales on behalf of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

With only 3 weeks’ notice to prepare and train 62 staff it was going to a busy few weeks, “Go live day” came around very quickly and to add to the logistics we went live over the Easter weekend. The team of Officers that joined the SGC Security Services family stepped up and the weekend went smoothly with no major issues.

 

The HR team at SGC Security Services managed to engage and Vet the Officers to BS 7858 in this short time ensuring they were all ready to go on 1st April.

Once HR were satisfied, they were handed over to the Operations team who then had the task of training them on 4 core training modules Mental Health Awareness, Dementia Awareness, Safeguarding and Information Governance to assist them in a healthcare environment.

During this period the Operations team visited the 6 sites to gain a greater knowledge of the task ahead and to start writing them all-important Assignment Instructions, a task that takes a keen eye for detail as this is the document that all stakeholders agree to and refer back to when a tasks need completing.

The team then start to compose reporting/patrol programs via our Digital reporting platform ensuring all the locations we will be operating from are GEO tagged for accuracy giving the senior management team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board the faith that these important tasks are being carried out.

Once the AI’s are agreed and finalised it’s all go ordering the uniforms and scheduling the shifts and getting the Officers trained on our Scheduling and reporting digital application platforms.

 

So, we finally arrived at “Go live day” on April fool’s day, and the operations team were on all 6 sites at the first shift starting at 07:00 ensuring all the team Officers fully understood their roles and were ready to represent themselves, SGC Security Services, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board but most of all assist in keeping patients, staff and visitors safe.

On day 1 Peter Horner who was mobilising Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor received this message from one of new team members “I would like to say that John and I feel so relaxed on doing our jobs now, we don’t have to worry about anything at work, thanks for giving us the ease at work and that we don’t have to worry anymore, and we can just concentrate on doing our job knowing we are supported”.

I would say that is not a bad start and proves if you put the hard work in from the start, have a dedicated team and work in partnership with your client and Officers you can achieve “Excellence as Standard” from day 1.
