SGC Security Services are hiring Fire Marshall’s to work as part of a team at NHS Bodmin Community Hospital as walking fire watch officers / Fire Marshals.
For this Fire Marshal role, you will need excellent communication and report writing skills to assist you with your day-to-day duties to deliver excellent patrolling, fire prevention, and evacuation procedures in accordance with contract requirements.
Responsibilities of a Fire Marshal:
- Carry out patrols in a hospital environment to ensure that all fire regulations are met, including checking of waste, reporting faults, and adhering to the Trust’s health and safety regulations.
- Take control in the event of fire and deliver the safe evacuation of patients, visitors, and staff
- Be able to carry out, where practicable, firefighting by the use of fire extinguishers (refresher training will be given)
- Meet and exceed wherever possible the safety, security, and service of the security team, our client, the public, and property
- Regularly patrol and physically check all areas of the site – internal and external, ensuring that all areas are safe as per site instructions using our patrol management system
- Check specifically identified rooms and all areas for fire or fire hazards
- Record and maintain all books and records assigned to your site and comply with all reporting requirements via technology-based reporting system
- Implement fire regulations/equipment/alarms and emergency procedures as required in accordance with site instructions.
- Comply at all times with company policies and procedures and the health and safety laws
- Be friendly, polite, and flexible at all times
- Undertake mandatory training to ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff of the trust
- Such other duties as required for proper fulfilment of the role
