Description
We are recruiting DS Events Officers to join our event safety and security team based in Watford.
As a DS Event Officer, you will provide a highly visible security presence during matchdays and stadium events, supporting crowd management and safety operations while delivering excellent customer service. You will play an important role in maintaining a safe, welcoming environment while ensuring stadium security procedures are followed.
This is typically a casual or part-time role, with shifts mainly taking place during evenings, weekends, and matchdays, so flexibility is essential.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Carry out pre- and post-event safety checks to ensure compliance with stadium safety procedures.
- Welcome, assist, and direct supporters and visitors attending matches and events.
- Maintain a professional and visible security presence across the stadium.
- Conduct security searches at entry points and ensure prohibited items are not brought into secured areas.
- Check tickets and manage entry points to ensure safe and controlled access.
- Monitor crowd movement and behaviour, identifying potential issues and responding appropriately.
- Respond quickly to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies and report them through the correct channels.
- Support asset protection and secure restricted zones within the stadium.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for candidates who:
- Hold a valid Door Supervisor Licence.
- Have experience in security, stewarding, or customer-facing roles (desirable but not essential).
- Are confident providing professional and friendly customer service.
- Have a professional attitude, sound judgement, and integrity.
- Are confident interacting with visitors, management, and large crowds.
- Have a checkable personal history including employment, education, travel, and unemployment periods.
- Are flexible and available to work weekends, evenings, and matchdays.
Desirable qualifications:
- Level 2 Spectator Safety Qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
- ACT Awareness Certificates.
- First Aid Certificate.
- An understanding of the events or sports industry.

Additional
- Minimum shift: 5 hours
- Typical hours: Evenings and weekends (matchdays and stadium events)
- Ability to commute to Watford required
- Commitment to scheduled events is essential

Pay rate: £12.60 per hour (subject to change due to increase in national minimum wage as of 1st April 2026)
