SGC Security Services are seeking highly organised and experienced professionals to join our Crowd Safety Team, delivering safety and security at some of the UK’s most exciting venues and events. From Premier League football and major concerts to festivals and world-class sporting events, you’ll play a key role in creating a safe, vibrant environment for both attendees and staff.
As a Crowd Safety Manager you will lead event-day safety operations, working closely with clients, stakeholders, and operational teams to ensure full compliance with legislation and best practice.
Duties / Responsibilities
Part-time, seasonal role; events primarily take place during evenings and weekends
Flexible travel to venues across the UK
Ensure compliance with the Green Guide and the Safety of Sports Grounds Act
Report to our Head of Crowd Safety and Events Manager
Act as the primary point of contact for team members on event days.
Deliver events alongside clients, events management team and operations team.
Attend Event Liaison Team (ELT) meetings with clients and stakeholders
Act as lead manager for larger events, working alongside Silver Command in the control room.
Oversee event-day safety planning, crowd dynamics, and incident response
Coordinate with stewarding teams and emergency services
Maintain incident logs, complete reports, and support post-event reviews
Drive continuous improvement in safety and security standards
Skills and Experience
- Minimum age: 18+
Valid Door Supervisor (DS) licence (essential)
Experience working in a Head of Security, Safety Officer, Area or Operations Manager role.
Strong customer service and communication skills
Flexible availability, especially weekends and evenings
Professional, reliable, and able to exercise sound judgement
Strong leadership and people management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Capable of interacting with VIPs and senior management
Familiarity with counter-terrorism measures, emergency evacuation procedures, and public safety protocols
Experience working within large sports or entertainment venues preferred Understanding of legislation and guidance relating to crowd safety, such as the Green Guide and Safety Certification requirements
Ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure and maintain composure during live incidents
Checkable work and personal history
Comprehensive knowledge of event safety management, crowd control, and stadium operations
Level 4 Spectator Safety Management qualification
First Aid Certificate; ACT, Ask Angela, and Drink Spiking certifications
