Join SGC Security Services as a DS Licensed Safety Officer and play a vital role in delivering exceptional crowd safety and event security at some of the UK’s most exciting venues. Whether it’s premier league football, music festivals, concerts, or world-class sporting events, you’ll help create a secure, vibrant atmosphere for attendees and staff alike. Duties / Responsibilities
- Part-time, seasonal role; events often evenings and weekends
- Flexible travel to venues across the UK
- Brief event staff, implement contingency plans, and ensure compliance with the Green Guide and Safety at Sports Grounds Act
- Report to Head of Crowd Safety and Events
- Act as primary point of contact for team members on event days
- Deliver events alongside clients, events management, and operations teams
- Attend ELTs with clients and stakeholders
- Act as lead manager for larger events, working alongside Event Silver Command in the control room
- Collaborate with the crowd management team to ensure safety plans are followed
- Oversee event-day safety planning, coordinate with stewarding teams and emergency services, monitor crowd dynamics, and manage incident response
- Supervise security operations, maintain incident logs and reports, and assist with post-event reviews to drive continuous improvement in safety and security standards
Skills and Experience
- Minimum age: 18+
- Valid Door Supervisor (DS) licence (required)
- Experience in Head of Security, Safety Officer, Area, or Operations Manager roles
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Flexible availability, especially weekends and evenings
- Professional, reliable, and able to exercise sound judgement
- Strong leadership and people management abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Capable of interacting with VIPs and senior management
- Familiarity with counter-terrorism measures, emergency evacuation procedures, and public safety protocols
- Experience in large sports or entertainment venues (preferred)
- Understanding of legislation and guidance relating to crowd safety (Green Guide, Safety Certification)
- Ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure and maintain composure during live incidents
- Checkable work and personal history
- Comprehensive knowledge of event safety management, crowd control, and stadium operations
- Level 4 Spectator Safety Management qualification
- First Aid Certificate; ACT, Ask Angela, and Drink Spiking certifications
