Last week and over the weekend our Managing Director Paul Macarthur travelled to Argos in Greece for the WUMA (World United Martial Arts Federation) World Championship. Paul’s involvement was threefold:
- As a competitor
- As a team GB coach
- As a WUMA Official.
Paul trains and coaches at the The Martial Arts Centre in Braintree which SGC Security Services also sponsor as part of its Social Value commitment. The Martial Arts Centre in Braintree, Essex, is proud to announce its outstanding achievements at the recent Kickboxing World Championship held in Argos, Greece. The talented kickboxers from the centre clinched three World Championship Gold medals, adding to their impressive haul of two Silver medals and one Bronze medal.
Leading the team to victory was Kickboxing coach and WUMA GB coach, Paul Macarthur. Macarthur, who has dedicated nearly four decades to the sport, showcased his unparalleled skills and expertise by securing a Silver medal for himself. This championship holds special significance for Macarthur as he concluded his illustrious 35-year fighting career with this event.
Speaking about the team’s achievements, Paul Macarthur said, “It’s an honour to lead such a dedicated and talented group of kickboxers. Their hard work, determination, and passion for the sport have truly paid off. I’m incredibly proud of each and every one of them.” On his own retirement, he added, “It’s been a remarkable journey, and I’m grateful for every moment. While I may be concluding my fighting career, my passion for coaching and mentoring the next generation remains stronger than ever.”
The Martial Arts Centre in Braintree, Essex, has long been a hub for aspiring martial artists. With a legacy of producing champions, the centre continues to offer top-notch training and guidance to individuals of all ages.
The entire Braintree community celebrates the achievements of its kickboxers and extends heartfelt congratulations to them.
